The Playsuit/Jumpsuit Trend

I think that one of my absolute all time favourite fashion trends are playsuits/jumpsuits. If you didn't know, playsuits are like shorts and a top all in one and a jumpsuit is the same but with long pants. These are everywhere at the moment because they are cute, playful and oh so fashionable. I have a few myself and I absolutely love them. I don't have any photos but I will explain them. I have one playsuit from cotton on which is made from thick cotton and is blue and white stripped. I got it for a $10 bargain and I wear them all the time, they are definitely a more casual piece. Another playsuit I have is made from a quality polyester with a black and white pattern on them. You can where playsuits and jumpsuits anywhere as they are so easy to pull off, well playsuits at least.

How to Lose Weight

Hey all!
Long time, no see. Anyway, I wanted to touch on an issue that has gotten me thinking lately and that thing is weight loss and health. Remember, being healthy doesn't just mean being fit and eating well. It also means having a balanced life, calm mind and good mood. Personally, I want to lose weight. I don't know how much weight, but I want to lose at least 10 kilograms. I currently am 5'9 and weigh 58.3kg. I spend hours searching the internet on 'how to lose weight fast' and I am sure lots of you have done the same. I have gathered a few different weight loss tips and tricks and I am going to give them to you now.

If this post gets lots of page views I might make a 'get healthy with me' series. If you would like, you can post comments on this post about what 'health' content you would like me to touch up on. By health I mean diet and fitness, not so much medical things. Also if I mention your comment on my next post like this I will check out and mention your blog on the post. Here you go:

1. Goals: I know that ten kilos is a big goal to set. Sometimes I get overwhelmed thinking about losing 10 kilos as it seems impossible. But I am not going to use the 'i' word anymore and instead of focusing on that big goal I am going to focus on multiple mini goals. I want to try to lose 1-2 kilos in two weeks. To me that seems more reachable. As well as a weight loss goal, I make other goals as well. For example: do 5 minutes of yoga and/or meditation every day, stop biting my nails, drink a lot more water. Once I reach these goals I feel accomplished and determined to complete my other main goal.

2. Motivation: The one thing that has helped me lately has been motivation. I have many ways of motivating myself. Beside my bed I have a piece of paper with a list of reasons why I should lose weight. I have also ordered a pair of skinny jeans, one pant size smaller than normal. I have pictures of tall models which have my ideal body type. Whenever I do something like say no to dessert, or go for a run, I reward myself with others things apart from food, such as trips to the nail salon or go to H and M for a shopping spree. Don't just throw away all you've achieved by ruining your diet with food rewards.

3. Tracking Your Progress: The main way I track my progress is by keeping a health diary. In my health diary I list: what I ate for breakfast, lunch, dinner and snack, how much water I have drank, what my mood is like, if I am sick or not, my weight and my height and then I give myself an overall score out of 5. I think this is a great way of really noticing how healthy or unhealthy you are. I start to notice changes in my diet, weight and mood really easily. Put it this way, its better than guessing if your getting any healthier or not. There are many apps on smartphones which assist with this sort of thing as well.

If you have gotten this far through this post, thanks for reading and you're awesome (btw). This post has been about more mental, kind of weight loss subjects, not so much how to lose the weight. But I promise I will post about that if this page gets at least 7 page views (hopefully more). Don't forget to comment about what you want me to write about 'health wise' and you could get mentioned on my next health post. Thank you, thank you, thank you so much for reading and supporting this post. I luv you all. Go start writing your health diaries.

What to Wear/Bring to a Model Casting

Hi, I have recently been asked what to wear and bring to an model casting. Some casting will tell you what to wear but a lot won't. Here are some basic rules to follow:

1. Don't wear baggy, ripped or oversized clothing. Remember you want to show off your body type, not how good you can rock a hoodie. If you will be waiting in line for hours before you meet the clients, its fine to wear some comfy clothing but as soon as you meet the clients take it off.

2. Don't wear flat shoes. Once again, before you meet the clients wear the comfiest shoes you have. The clients are looking for certain things like if you can walk in heels and if you are tall enough.

3. Don't wear bright, distracting or colourful clothes, jewellery or makeup. Clothes with bright, floral patterns or tie-dyes, as cute as they are, will distract the clients from your natural beauty and you will look tacky compared to all the other girls. Try to avoid jewellery for the same reason. With your makeup, keep it all-natural, this means that if you have clear skin, long eye-lashes and radiance in you face you pretty much don't need to wear any makeup at all. The maximum makeup I would go for would be concealer and/or foundation, lip gloss, mascara and blush/bronzer. No bright lip colours, heavy eye makeup or serious contour.

Essentials to Remember:

-Portfolio, it's useless to turn up without one of these.
-Snacks, walking in on an empty stomach can make you dizzy and over-emotional so a small healthy snack like a handful of nuts or some celery sticks.
-Entertainment, you could be waiting in line for the casting for up to three hours and you can get seriously bored. Bring either your phone, a book or a magazine.
-Good attitude, being confident, happy and sociable when meeting clients and other models can really be the difference of whether people like you or not. If you are not chosen or a told to lose weight, don't get a temper or be smart with the clients as they probably won't reconsider you in the future.

I really hope that this has benefitted you in some way and will help you pursue your modelling career.

What is Modelling | Fantasies, Agents and Castings

Hi Everyone,
I hope you have had a wonderful break from me as I haven't written in ages. Today, I thought that I should share with you my points of view on something I have been interested in for a while, modelling. I'm sure that all you girls (and boys!) out there have at some point in your life fantasized about seeing yourself on the latest edition of vogue magazine or travelling the world with other models and posing in designer brands on the catwalk. This is definitely me. I have always wanted to be that girl who would miss a day off school and would come back and everyone would ask where I had been and I would say "Oh, you know, I was just doing a photo-shoot for Dior, and everyone would get blown away.

Sadly, this is not reality, and if I did ever become a model, I'm sure I wouldn't be working for Dior any time soon. Although, this is hard to imagine for some, I have started to think about modelling seriously. I am a 5'9 and still only a teenager, so it has always been a possibility. Except I may need to lose a few kilos as my legs and but are quite round, but the rest is okay. I was really considering this the other day so I looked up modelling and found out about various things that I had no clue about, including 'modelling agents' and 'model castings'.

A modelling agent, or just a regular agent is a professional you hire to find you photo-shoots and pretty much get you out there. I had no idea about agents, I always thought that someone from Vogue would just knock on the door, give you a million dollar cheque and fly you away to a studio. Sadly this is not the case and even if you are the perfect person to be a model, there are others out there just like you, which makes the modelling world competitive, so that is where an agent is concerned. Talking about competition brings me onto my next subject 'Model castings'. To what I believe, and I may be completely wrong, but a casting is where there is a photo-shoot or catwalk event coming up and the brand or clothing line will hold an audition for models. There may be 5 other girls or 100 other girls but either way, you will probably be measured in places like you waist and bum and you will have to give in a portfolio (a folder with photo's of you in it) and you may have to walk as well. They are normally completely honest at castings and they will tell you in your face if you are not tall enough or if you are too 'big' which I think is barbaric and I do not support people who use put downs like these.

So that's all, till next time,
Livxxoo
