We all need to take a break from life sometimes...

As you might know, I am leaving for a twelve-day holiday tomorrow so if I don't post for a while, that's the reason. I have felt really stressed and anxious today about how unorganized I am at the moment and how much I need to do before tomorrow. Whenever I get stressed or anxious I don't really get a panic attack I just start to feel really sick, I have a weird mood-swing, I get really angry about stupid things or I have a massive breakdown. Whichever one comes, I always find the best ways to feel better is to get away from society and life and just have some alone time somewhere peaceful. My peaceful place is my backyard. I know what you're all thinking, but my backyard is pretty big and very peaceful. I will be spending a whole twelve days at the beach from tomorrow so that is a good time to fit in some relaxation.

Polyvore Outfits #2

If you read one of my last blog posts you would know that I have been using and creating outfits on the website Polyvore. I recommend Polyvore because you can be so creative and style with millions of different clothes. I had another go and here is what I created.

Polyvore Fashion Outfits

Recently I discovered the website Polyvore. Polyvore is a really cool styling website where you can see whats trending and what all the celebs are wearing these days. But you can also create your own outfits. There are thousands of items of clothing to choose from that you can mix and match, then add shoes a bag and accessories and you have a stylish outfit, right there in front of you. I had a go, and this is what I ended up with. Tell me what you think.

New Dressing Table

Yay! New dressing table. A lot of you right now will be like, why the hell is she getting s excited over a dressing table? Well let me just tell you that for the months on end now I have had a rubbish old brown desk and some shelves in my room. Where did I keep my beauty stuff? In these big plastic boxes, in the hallway on top of my old dressing table, which is this yucky dark brown colour and way too big.

The one that I am getting is going to be plain white with drawers that I will probably keep a mixture of beauty and stationery stuff in, so I can get rid of my desk which was only ever really used for storage anyway. So if you didn't know I am styling my room in a shabby chic/vintage style and so far there are only a few bits and pieces in my room with that theme so I am going to really jazz up this dressing table to fit the theme. I will show you the dressing table when it comes.

Goodbye Winter, Hello Spring

Yay! Its that time again. Spring, and we all know what that means. Baby animals! Yes *punches air*. If you didn't know I love animals especially baby ones so spring is always so enjoyable. Even though Spring is here, I will sort of miss winter. I missed out on winter last year because I was in Europe where it was Summer.

You know what Spring also means, wardrobe makeover! Yes, say goodbye to the big bulky parka jumpers and jeans and say hello to dresses, and daisy prints and spaghetti straps. Oh I just can't wait for it to get really hot.

In Australia, hot is really hot, like even in the middle of winter, I will be caught wearing shorts, but hey, whats not to love about spring. Doesn't it just make you so happy, it's time for a fresh new start. So I decided that I might make some Spring resolutions. I think that you should too because its such a long time still until New Year and truthfully I feel like, why don't we make resolutions every day. The answer is simple, if we just decide from now on I am going to do exercise then it doesn't feel special. Mark a few special dates on your calendar to start resolutions, so that you think: ok, from Easter I am going to start exercising more to celebrate Easter. So Spring (or whatever season you are going into) is the time to start.

Here are my Spring resolutions:

  • Say 'yes' more
  • Say 'no' less
  • Make some more friends
  • Exercise more
  • Eat more healthy things
  • Do more
  • Do more blogging
  • Get off your lazy butt more
  • Do more yoga
  • Stretch more
  • Play with my dog more

How to get to sleep faster

If you didn't know I have major sleeping problems. Literally, it is so annoying. At night I just lie there staring at the ceiling for hours and then in the morning I can't wake up early. I have been looking around for some solutions and have found some pretty good ones. I thought I might put together all of the tips and tricks I have learnt into one big tutorial for all of you viewers out there who also can't get to sleep at night.

Liv's Tips on Getting Better Sleep

  • Turn of all electronics (phones, t.v's, radio etc.)
  • Cool down your room
  • Turn off all lights
  • Adjust your pillows

Preparing yourself

  • Read a book
  • Have a warm drink about 30 minutes before you go to bed
  • Wear comfy pyjamas
  • Have a hot bath or shower
  • Eat dinner earlier
  • Avoid caffeine
  • Do some stretching/yoga

Changing your actions throughout the day

  • Don't nap during the day
  • exercise a lot to burn off energy

Getting to sleep

  • Count sheep
  • Try to stay awake (I must not fall asleep, I must not fall asleep)
  • Squeeze and then relax
  • Breathe slowly

Hope it helps

Favourite Nail Polishes

In this post I am simply going to tell you what my favourite nail polishes are and why I love them.

Ulta 3- Ulta 3 is really good because it stays nice and runny for a really long time. Other nail polishes that I have used will go all sticky and clumpy after a while, but Ulta 3 stays good for ages.

Paul Frank- I don't know if Paul Frank is an official nail polish brand, but anyway, the nail polish I got in my Paul Frank showbag at the Ekka is awesome. The thing I like about it is that it comes in quite small little bottles. I find with bigger bottles, they never get used up and just sit there rotting away. If they are in smaller bottles then you use up your nail polish quicker, so you can buy, fresh new nail polish more often.

My favourite colour in the Ulta 3 brand is Purple Primrose, which is a deepish purple colour, and in the Paul Frank selection this really pretty light pink.

I hope that gives you some nail polish brand ideas for next time you go to the drug store.

Places that you need to visit before you die

Here are some of the places that I have visited in my life that I think you need to visit. Obviously there are some much nicer places in the world to visit, but these are just the ones that I have been to. Enjoy.

P.S. They are in order of best to last (in my opinion)

  1. England- England is one of my most favourite places on Earth. It is where I grew up and spent my childhood. In England definitely visit London for all of your fashionable shopping spree and then travel to more outer cities. I grew up in East Sussex and Tunbridge wells, which are little counties filled with big plains and fields and tiny little brick cottages. Make sure to visit London Bridge, Westminister Abbey, Groombridge place, the place where Winnie the Pooh is set (100 acre wood), the Lhama Farm and Big Ben.

    2.  Paris- Paris is just awesome. Go get your berets on and fly to Paris! Paris is such a culture place with  really yummy food and delicious cheese. First you will need to learn how to speak  French, but apart from that just go to Paris.  Some places to visit within Paris are: Mont Matre, The Eiffel Tower, Arc de Triomphe, The Louvre, The Mona Lisa etc.

    3. Australia- You can't get much better than the Australian outback with its kangaroos and koalas and let me just remind you that Australia has the most beaches in the world! Go get your wallet too because outback Australia is good but wait until you get into the cities. Trust me, there are the best shops and brands ever! So if you love surfing and shopping go to Australia, now. Just finish reading this blog post and book your tickets.

   4.  DisneyLand. Why not go to the Happiest place on Earth. This one doesn't need a description, all you need to know is that if you want to go and meet some Princess' and baby elephants, then go to DisneyLand.

  5.  The Great Barrier Reef- The Great Barrier Reef is an awesome place to visit, go scuba diving and snorkelling. There are heaps of amazing colours and fishes to see that you can't not go.

Places that I have never visited that I want to visit

  1. Florida
  2. Harry Potter World
  3. Miami
  4. Asia
  5. New Zealand
  6. Isle of Wight
  7. Italy
  8. Other places in France
  9. Brazil
  10. Greece
  11. Hobart
  12. Sydney
  13. California
And here are some pictures that I have taken whilst on Holiday, (I was really young in a lot of these photos):

River in Byron Bay

My Harry Potter Obsession

This post will be all about Harry Potter, my obsession. I can't even begin to tell you how much I love Harry Potter. I love Harry Potter to Alaska and back (quite a long way) and I have read the series three times. My bestie Sarah also loves HP and we are both on the same book for the third time. We are such weirdos that we turn everything into harry potter, for example:

Teacher: This term you will be doing double maths

Sarah and I: Just like in harry potter

And

Passage from Harry Potter: Parvati whispers to Lavender "I will be her friend as long as I don't have to wear that cardigan.

Sarah and I when relief teacher comes: I'll be her friend as long as I don't have to wear that scarf.

So yeah, just ask me any questions you wan't at all about HP and I'll try to answer them the best I can.

Shabby Chic Room Decor

The other day I was trying to rearrange my room a bit to get it in the style I want. I am aiming to get a vintage/shabby chic look. At the moment my walls are light pink but I think that it looks a bit too girly. I think that I just need cream or white walls, oldish looking white furniture with pops of colour around the place. My room is very small so if most of it is white then it will feel bigger and less crowded. An awesome shop for shabby chic decor is 'Live Laugh Love'. LLL is filled with really awesome little ornaments and pillows and furniture, you need to check it out!

Here is some inspiration:

One of my favourite things

Unicorn, Unicorns and oh yeah more unicorns.  My life is just a world full of unicorns. If you didn't know (which you obviously didn't) I absolutely love unicorns. Like whats not to love about unicorns. They're in the name of my blog for crying out loud. Why I love unicorns, i'm not actually too sure. Maybe it's that there magical and that they so beautiful. Oh I totally need a unicorn, or to get out and about a bit more. Guilty! I also have this fan craze for Harry Potter (i've read them 3 times) so when I leave school my friend (who also loves HP) and I are going to somehow get to Hogwarts, go to the forbidden forest and find a unicorn. It is my dream. So if you know where I can find a unicorn please put it in the comments! I need unicorns!

4 Exercises Where You Don't Feel Like You're Exercising

Well that was a long title to write. So if you can read properly you will know that this afternoon I am going to be sharing with you my favourite non-exercising exercises, if that makes sense. To be honest, I don't exercise that much and I hate running, swimming and all of those cardio/weight lifting type things and I know that a lot of you guys do too. So I rounded up my favourite activities that will help burn some calories. I am going to do this in a sort of routine so you can do these in order.

Stretching/Yoga posing
Before you do any hardcore exercise always stretch. Don't do any yoga breathing yet because you don't want to lose all of your energy.

Bike riding
I absolutely LUV bike riding. I haven't been on a bike for ages and want to go on one right now *stomps foot and pounds fist on table*. When I say bike riding I don't mean getting all of your fancy bike gear on and sprint peddling down the road with a big group of other people. I simply mean getting on a mountain bike, a helmet and going on a relaxing ride in a park somewhere or on a bike track.

Trampolining
Trampolining is super fun and to be truthful I still bounce around like a little kid on the trampoline in our yard. Not that its a bad thing, trampolining is so fun a really good way of exercising. You don't have to buy a little mini trampoline like at the gym. Go on a real fun trampoline and try some somersaults and split jumps and I guarantee you will have the time of your life.

Hula Hooping
Hula hooping is so, so good for you. Just 30 minutes of it will burn off like 300 calories! Hula hooping can take a bit of time to master for some, but once you get the hang of it you'll be doing it 24/7.

Yoga
Yoga is always a good thing to do after a long hard work out session because it relaxes you and cools you down. If you have good concentration and balance skills then yoga is definitely your thing.

So go and get exercising now! I certainly will be. Just remember kids, that every couple of hundred calories dropped equals a Dominoes a pizza :) mmmm.....

What's Happening Today

Hi it’s 2:35pm on Saturday the 30th August and I thought that I might share with you what is happening in Australia today.
It’s pretty shady with a bit of a breeze, the weather is nice but a tiny bit gloomy. Today i’m wearing a pink, flowy, spaghetti strap top from Just Jeans and dark blue denim, high-waisted shorts from Valleygirl.
From what I can see from my back verandah,
Louie’s napping
Birds are chirping
Mum’s reading
I’m blogging
Biscuits are baking
Cars are rolling by
Neighbours are no where in sight
THE CLOUDS HAVE MOVED AND THE  SUN HAS SUDDENLY SHONE ON MY FACE REALLY BRIGHTLY
People are setting up the Camp Hill fair for tomorrow
Today is a lazy day, just the way I like it. I promised myself that today I would spend a lot of time around the house cleaning and being more active but so far I have broken this promise.
See Yah,
